Excited for my friends who are getting to tape half hours this year. Angry about my enemies who are doing the same.
Tapings for Comedy Central’s The Half Hour are coming up soon all at The Royale Theatre in Boston, MA. The comedians picked for this year are pretty damn fantastic, so we’re pretty sure you’ll want to RSVP on this ASAP.
Below are the times and line-up.
Tues. Feb. 26th-7:15PM Jared…
This is an actual exchange I had with a person after a show once. The person had been talking through the show.
Heckler: Aren’t people suppose to talking during a show?
Me: No.
Heckler: But every show I go to someone talks to the comic.
Me: Yes, you!
I don’t envy what Patton Oswalt had to do at one of the best comedy shows I’ve ever seen. It was in 2007 at the Lakeshore Theater in Chicago. The line-up began with a young John Mulaney, Janeane Garofalo, and closed with an unbelievable set by Patton Oswalt, paired with Janeane I assume to…
This just happened to @peteholmez @meltdown_show
The greatest item I’ve ever received in a gift bag. Vancouver Comedyfest, 2008-ish.
I posted this a couple years ago and it only received two notes. C’mon! It’s worth more than that. Have you ever seen such mints?
They’re both sweet and bitter.

One thing bothered me about this. It’s when Ira says “No one here makes a living at comedy.” In actuality many of the comics on that episode were making a living at comedy. (Dougpound was, and is, working for Tim and Eric.)
I don’t know why that bothers me. I guess I feel like comics have it hard enough. We don’t need it exaggerated.
It makes it all the more amazing that we do it by choice. A guy like Brody Stevens, who gets stage time at more legit venues, was going there. There is something about comedy that makes you fling yourself into the fire even when you don’t need to anymore. That’s what makes stand ups odd. Not that we HAVE to perform at places like this but that we volunteer to do so.
I’m glad Eric had to retire that bit.
That time I was on “This American Life”
